Secondary Long-Term Occasional Teacher

Eligibility

All qualified secondary Occasional Teachers are eligible to apply for LTO postings for which they are qualified.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers and possess the following:

Order of Consideration

Applications will be assessed according to the requirements and OCT qualifications outlined in this job posting, and in accordance with Policy P.146.HR Equitable Recruitment, Hiring and Promotion.

A minimum of 3 qualified applicants will be offered an interview, including:

At least three (3) teachers, who are currently employed as an occasional teacher with the OCDSB, who have the required OCT qualifications, and who best meet the criteria outlined in the job posting.

If fewer than three (3) qualified applicants apply, all qualified applicants will be interviewed.

Application Process

Teachers should apply only to the vacancies to which they will accept an interview.

An OT who accepts an LTO assignment cannot apply to another LTO assignment that interferes with classes they are actively teaching. It is the expectation that a teacher who accepts an assignment must agree to complete the assignment as posted.

The 2024-25 school year will consist of semesters. Teachers can teach a maximum of three (3) classes within a semester, which equals 100%.
