We are seeking a creative, dynamic, committed professional to join our team:

Facilities Renewal Technician

Location: Facilities - Design and Construction Dept; 1224 Stittsville Main Street

Nature of Position: 100% Regular, 12 month work year

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

Salary range: ESP Level 6: $51,070 to $63,728

Under the supervision of the Team Manager of Design and Construction Services, and the direction of the respective Project Leader, the Facilities Renewal Technician assists with the planning, deployment and reporting of Facilities infrastructure projects to meet regulatory and Ministry of Education requirements for Facility Condition Audits and Asset Management Database planning and reporting.

This position establishes timelines and coordinates third party consultant inspections; performs data entry and ensures project plans are consistent with information in the Facilities database. The Technician also provides assistance to Project teams, acts as a technical resource, provides project data/records to support project plans and priority schools.

Qualifications

Completion of diploma program in Architectural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering Technician from a recognized community college.

Minimum of three years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience is also considered.

Familiarity with building construction, materials/procedures, and mechanical and electrical systems.

Knowledge of computer application, including proficiency in Word, excel, database applications and scheduling software.

Knowledge of relevant Board policies and procedures, administrative practices and procedures, building codes, standards and regulations.

Good understanding of facility condition assessments; and working knowledge of AutoCAD.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to deal with contractors, school administrators, and other Board personnel.

Excellent organization skills for managing workload, and juggling multiple demands and deadlines.

Ability to demonstrate initiative, and must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.

A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle required.

from term and casual employees within ESP bargaining unit are given 2nd consideration. (External Posting)

3. Applications

from External candidates (including Board employees that do not belong to this

bargaining unit) will be considered only if applications from 1 & 2 have

been exhausted.
