Expression of Interest

Applications are invited from occasional and permanent full-time teachers, intermediate and secondary teachers for a 1.0 FTE one year renewable term teaching position at the M.F. McHugh Education Centre. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE) position which will tentatively start September 3, 2024.

Required Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

Ontario College of Teacher’s Certificate

Additional Qualifications in Special Education, Construction Technology, and Technological Design

Evidence of curriculum and classroom best practices in Special Education and Student Success

Evidence of practice based on Ministry initiatives including Supporting Minds, Learning for All and The Renewed Math Strategy

Evidence of Culturally Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy

An ability to describe their practices through a lens of the Deep Learning Framework

Ability to work in a co-operative team manner with a variety of support personnel

Excellent communication skills

In addition, the following will be considered an asset but not limited to:

Two (2) years successful teaching experience

Broad teaching experience

Experience working with exceptional students

Previous experience at McHugh Education Centre

The terms and conditions of this position shall be consistent with the terms outlined in the collective agreement and in accordance with Board Policy.
