Under the general direction of the school Principal, the Classroom Supervisor will:
provide adult supervision in a classroom when a qualified teacher replacement is not available;
provide an added safety element by ensuring that an adult is present in the classroom;
assist students with completing work assigned by their teacher;
follow the Board's privacy policy and protect all student's privacy;
additional duties assigned by the school principal may include outside recess, bus, or lunch supervision.

candidates must be able to provide a reference from a permanent OCSB staff member.
Under the direction of the school principal and the instructional supervision of the classroom teacher, the Student Support worker:
provides support in a classroom where there is a child with specific needs to be met (developmentally delayed, physically challenged, deaf, blind, or experiencing social/emotional and behavioural difficulties);
provides support in the students’ academic development;
responds to the students’ physical and emotional needs; and
acts as a team member of the school in any area which may directly assist the assigned student(s), or may contribute to the educational program as a whole;and performs other duties, as assigned.
As the needs of each student will differ, the duties of individual Student Support Workers may be different, however, the nature and intent of the position is such that responsibilities will be comparable.
Required Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
over 18 years of age;
preference will be given to current university or college students or graduates of a university or college program;
experience working with children with a variety of physical, learning styles, intellectual disabilities and behavioural or other learning difficulties;
experience working with students from different cultural backgrounds;
effective communication and interpersonal skills;
knowledge of teaching practices or previous work with children and youth is an asset;
all successful candidates will need to provide a valid vulnerable Police check (dated 6 months or less) at the time of onboarding. Failure to do so will disqualify you from continuing in the hiring process.

Rate of Pay: $144.23/day + 4% vacation pay as a Classroom Supervisor and $25.24 per hour as a Student Support Worker
