Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) provides service to approximately 5,900 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 in 34 schools and is one of the largest employers in the Grande Prairie/Spirit River region.

Peace Wapiti Public School Division is seeking candidates who enjoy working in a student-focused and collaborative environment. We invite applications for a Temporary Part-Time Indigenous Education Services Provider (17.5 hours per week, effective immediately to June 25, 2025).

Qualifications:

We are seeking a candidate to join the Indigenous Education Services Team by providing support at Beaverlodge Regional High School. This role focuses on improving Indigenous student experience by fostering meaningful connections with Indigenous students, learning opportunities for all students, and collaborating with staff in a leadership capacity. The successful candidate will require the ability to connect with students in a professional manner, work within the unique dynamics of a school environment, provide connections to culture and community resources, and facilitate presentations. They also require an openness to collaborate on research. While assigned to Beaverlodge Regional High School, this position is a part of the Indigenous Education Services Divisional Team. The supervision of the role will be shared by the School Principal and the Indigenous Education Services Coordinator.

A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Education, Indigenous Studies or a related field is required. (Applicants who do not meet the educational requirements may be considered at an alternate classification.)

Experience in an Indigenous community is preferred.

Candidates with an understanding of the Teacher and Leadership Quality Standards as well as the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action are encouraged to apply.

Salary: The salary range for this position is $56,785.00 to $73,007.16 annually, pro-rated to the working FTE, commensurate with education and experience. Applicants who do not meet the educational requirement may be considered at an alternate classification/salary grid.

The salary will be prorated accordingly for assignments that start mid-school year.
