The School - Barrhead Composite High School
Located approximately 120 km northwest of Edmonton, Barrhead Composite High School (BCHS), is a grade 7-12 school.
AT BCHS, we immerse students in a diverse and engaging learning environment. We strive to inspire passion for discovery, the confidence to embrace challenges, and the skills to pursue success.
The Position
The successful candidate will provide one-on-one academic support to a variety of students, as well as providing small group and/or classroom assistance to a range of student needs. Hours of work will be Monday-Friday at 33.5 hrs/week following the school calendar. Duties are to commence November 27, 2024 and will end February 5, 2025, with a possibility of extension.
Qualifications
Experience working with behaviorally challenged and non-verbal students would be an asset
Ability to set clear boundaries, communicate effectively and efficiently and work independently
Ability to work in a flexible learning environment
Ability to establish positive relationships to support students in grades 7-12
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and adults
Must demonstrate the ability to work as a member of the school team, taking direction from the classroom teacher, special education lead teacher, and consultants
Enthusiastic and motivated to help students succeed
SIVA training would be an asset
First aid would be an asset
