Description
* Enrolled as a full-time high school or post-secondary student, at least 16 years of age, legally entitled to work in Canada and intending to return to their studies in the fall. Preferable preference given to students enrolled or planning to enroll in a medical or office administration post-secondary program
* Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License, or equivalent from province of residence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health
* Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information
* Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
* Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
* Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environment
* Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position
* Demonstrated communication skills
* Ability to respect and promote confidentiality
* Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Health Information Services Summer Student will be responsible for the maintenance of health records that meet the criteria of destruction as per Prairie Mountain Health Retention and Destruction of Health Records policy.
Overview:
- Responsible for the custody and maintenance of health records that have met the criteria for destruction, adhering to the PMH Retention and Destruction of Health Records policy. This includes but is not limited to analysis, securing and labelling of health records that meet these criteria.
- Organize and move files to designated areas
- Miscellaneous filing as required
- Works independently and in collaboration with other staff/management team to produce a harmonious working relationship.
- Notifies Manager when additional assistance or issues arise.
- This is a Regional position, which means the student will be required to travel and perform all duties at various PMH facilities across the region.
- Other duties as assigned.
