QUALIFICATIONS
* This will be a 4 week term within the dates of June 1, 2025 and August 30, 2025
* Full-time post secondary student, legally entitled to work in Canada and intending to return to their studies in the fall
* Preference will be given to applicants entering or already in a university program for one of the following professions: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology or Audiology
* Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers Licence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within the Prairie Mountain Health
* Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information
* Demonstrated ability in maintaining effective interpersonal working relationships required
* Demonstrated strong organizational, decision making and problem solving skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment
* Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
* Maintain a professional manner at all times
* Ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
* Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
* Ability to respect and promote confidentiality
* Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis


POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Manager, Therapy Services, the Summer Student works on projects assigned by the Therapy Services management team within Prairie Mountain Health. The Summer Student functions as an integral part of the health care system and is committed to the Vision, Mission, Values and strategic priorities of Prairie Mountain Health.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists in planning and coordinating projects within the Therapy Services department and under the direction of Therapy Service Management. Projects may include program evaluation and planning.
  2. Develop patient education materials as requested.
  3. Data collection, analysis and interpretation for the Therapy department.
  4. Research activities including literature searches and information gathering.
  5. Preparation and delivery of education to Therapy Services staff.
  6. Other duties as assigned.
