Collins Aerospace in Ottawa is a world leader in wireless communications networking, with products such as high-data-rate HF/VHF/UHF modems and the Self Configuring Relay Network (SCRN) for ad-hoc wireless networks. We are developing the next generation of HF radios that support significant throughput improvements and ad-hoc networking features, as well as developing Software Defined Radio networking waveforms for customers around the world.
What You Will Do
- Perform manufacturing build, test and troubleshooting of current product line hardware;
- Update and maintain existing product line tools to allow team to continue operating at optimal efficiency;
- Troubleshoot new and existing hardware to support the engineering team;
- Participate in the on-going support of applications and products, both in-house and with clients;
- Assist with product packaging and kitting;
- Perform inventory support tasks;
- Opportunity to work in a team and individually to develop and modify hardware according to design and customer requirements.
- This is an 8 month Co-Op position.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Post-secondary student working toward a Degree in an applicable engineering technician or technologist program and the above identified skills and experience.
- Eligible for a Government of Canada Secret Level Security Clearance and Controlled Good Access.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Working knowledge of Linux and DOS operating systems;
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written;
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills;
- Good team working ability and self-motivated with a desire to learn;
- CAD skills using Solidworks, Or CAD and/or Mentor Graphics based tools would be an asset.
