In this role, you will play a key part in designing and developing optomechanical systems. Requirements/Key Competencies Must be a highly motivated self-starter. Reporting technical information to a diverse audience, both internally and externally to our customers. Demonstrated capability to lead technical teams and solve complex engineering problems. Ability to be adaptive and take initiative. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Education and Technical Requirements: Must have a post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field 4+ year of mechanical design experience, preferably in product design P.Eng or working towards P.Eng preferred Background in physics, or experience in the field of optics is preferred Demonstrated ability to develop a design from a set of written specifications Ability to use CAD software to design and develop products. Autodesk Inventor preferred. Knowledge of FEA concepts and how to apply them using FEA software. FEMAP and NX Nastran preferred. Experience in completing independent research and development activities. Proficient user in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
