Pythagoras Academy is an exceptional co-educational independent school for students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and create student learning that incorporate BC Curriculums objectives, including STEM and design thinking;
Assess student learning using formative and summative methods, incorporating feedback, student reflection and formal reporting, to grow and develop skills;
Be the touchstone for parents, students and teachers;
Personalize learning opportunities for students;
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the development of integrated lessons and units;
Maintain appropriate standards of behaviour, mutual respect, and safety within the classroom;
Incorporate appropriate technology use;
Integrate social responsibility and kindness into daily teaching and routines;
Position and Qualifications
Possess or be in the application of a valid BC Teaching Certificate;
Possess a Bachelors degree or higher qualification in education;
Models a strong work ethic as well as high standards of commitment;
Foster's school mission, values and sense of community through student-centered decisions;
Effectively communicates with staff, parents and students;
Maintains professionalism through all school interactions and activities;
Experience writing and maintaining IEP's;
Teaching social-emotional skills and creating friendship clubs;
Working with gifted students to challenge their numeracy skills.

Compensation: Pythagoras Academy teaching salaries are 5% above Richmond School Board salaries.

Annual Salary: $68,327 - $104,971
