of student population. All decisions made by the District are guided by its vision and core values and are based on research and consultation, including with Tla’amin Nation. Similarly, the District’s initiatives

and resources are aligned to support its commitment to fostering a culture of care and belonging where the well-being and success of all learners is supported; providing intentional support for a growth mindset, collaboration, interdependence, and staff development; and being a forward-thinking, research-based, ethical, effective, efficient, sustainable, and connected organization.

The District seeks a new Superintendent who will provide inspirational and strategic

leadership to students, staff, families, and the community, and bring an innovative voice to

the school district, focusing on efforts that support its values of integrity, respect, courage,

curiosity, inclusivity, and good relations. As the Chief Executive Officer reporting directly

to the elected Board of Education, the Superintendent enables the staff, educators and

administrators in the implementation of the Board’s vision and strategy, based on the most

current educational research and a commitment to continuous growth and development.

The District’s next Superintendent is an authentic, experienced, and accomplished educational

leader with a deep affinity for student success and a reputation for creating and fostering a culture

that supports communication, collaboration, transparency, and innovation, and that celebrates

diversity and embraces inclusivity. Highly relational, the District’s next Superintendent will be

known as a people-focused and humble leader who is committed to consultation and ensuring

the voices of the District’s various partner groups are heard and addressed. An ability to build

and maintain a strong working relationship with the Board of Education is vital to the success of

the new Superintendent. As the ideal candidate, your experience is augmented by a demonstrated

alignment to the District’s values and supported by a career of success from the classroom to

administration. Your leadership experience in schools and at the District level is augmented by

an applicable Master’s degree.

The targeted salary range for this position is $216,431 - $240,479 annually, supplemented by a

competitive total rewards package. qathet School District is committed to equity and diversity,

and a staff team that reflects the community we serve. We encourage applications from members

of groups with historical and/or current barriers to equity, including Indigenous peoples; members

of groups that commonly face discrimination due to race, ancestry, colour or religion; persons with

physical and/or mental disabilities; and/or persons of marginalized sexual orientations and gender

identities.

This is an opportunity to join an innovative District that embraces inclusivity, pursuing new ways

of learning and knowing, and helping learners identify their unique pathways to success.
