WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Director Business Solution and Architecture will be responsible for leading the application developments and maintenance activities for AML & Financial Crimes initiatives. The main responsibilities of the Business Solution and Architecture is to ensure the design and execution of the applications that are deployed to support the business processes are in line with the AML & Financial Crimes objectives and strategies. This is an important role as it bridges the gap between technology and business at its most foundational level. As businesses continually adapt to changing IT landscapes, business architects have a vital role in linking business strategy with the reorganization and restructuring of both business and IT processes, among various other responsibilities.

The position will involve overseeing project and business solution deliverables, and people and team relationships between Automated Compliance Solution team, business stakeholders and T&O partners, as well as overseeing projects deliverables and ongoing technology related operations. This role is also responsible supporting various development activities including technical design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance support of various End User Computing tools, and Business Managed / T&O Applications, and ensuring compliance to enterprise standards and policies.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Direct the development and production support teams within AML & Financial Crimes on all technical development and operations supporting the AML business functions.

  • Partnering with AML IT to conduct technical design and deliveries on various business managed and T&O applications enhancement and maintenance projects within AML and Financial Crimes.

  • Provide technical leadership and technical architecture to the project throughout the development life cycle, including architecture design and best practice.

  • Lead the assessment on business requirements, current state environment and technology choices to evaluate solution alternatives that meet business sponsor needs.

  • Work with Financial Crimes and AML production support, and AML IT Production Support and Maintenance teams to resolve issues with Financial Crimes applications and identify proper root cause and remediation plan.

  • Responsible for the oversight and reporting on production support and maintenance issues and root cause.

  • Liaison with T&O to conduct vendor evaluation, and ensuring technology solution aligns to Financial Crimes and AMLs overall strategy and requirement.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Expert knowledge of IT development standards, methodologies, and audit requirement.

  • Experience with different aspects of architecture including web / windows application, data, security and infrastructure.

  • Problem solving / analytic skills and ability to resolve business and technical issues.

  • Experience with projects involving integration of disparate types of technologies and platforms.

  • Advanced knowledge of AML/AT legislation, practices and principles, as well as RBC internal AML/AT policies or equivalent.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experiences with variety of technologies including ASP.NET, C#, Python, Spark, SharePoint, Microsoft SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, Teradata, HDFS/Hive, Github, Microsoft and Unix/Linux platform.

  • Knowledge of bank-wide structure and organization, businesses and operations.
