What's the opportunity?
You will be the first line of defense (L1B) with responsibility for Cyber/IT risk management, assisting Personal Banking and Commercial Banking (PB/CB) Business Units in identifying and mitigating Cyber/IT risk by providing challenge and oversight activities. You will focus on sustaining and improving the Cyber/IT Risk business as usual (BAU) target operating model within PB/CB by developing/facilitating/supporting tools and processes. You will be responsible for tracking, monitoring, and reporting of Cyber/IT Risk program for PB/CB lines of business, providing technical tools and solutions to support Cyber/ IT Risk monitoring, reporting, and analysis. You will provide support to PB/CB Business Managed Applications (BMAs) to achieve Enterprise/Segment Cyber/IT risk management goals, and expert feedback on the Cyber/IT Risk impact of major change initiatives, process improvements and transformational projects. You will also provide subject matter expertise around policies and standards related to Cyber/IT Risk.
What will you do?
- Leverages Enterprise and Business Segment Controls, KRIs and dashboards to identify, assess, and drive improvement of the Cyber/IT Risk posture across Personal Banking and Commercial Banking (PB/CB)
- Collaborates with PB/CB Business Managed Application (BMA) teams to improve Cyber/IT Risk posture.
- Collaborates with Cyber/IT Risk partners in Technology & Operations (T&O) to improve Cyber/IT Risk posture of T&O applications funded by PB/CB
- Participates in applicable committees/working groups for applicable Cyber/IT risk related initiatives and drive the execution to meet Enterprise/Segment Compliance Standards.
- Monitors new and changes to existing Cyber/IT governance policies, frameworks, standards, and initiatives that impact PB/CB and develops a process to communicate relevant information accordingly.
- Engages Operational Risk Directors and Business Management Applications on Business As Usual (BAU) Cyber/IT related initiatives.
- Gathers, analyzes and reports on the data from a wide-variety of sources, including Global Cyber Security, Global Technology Infrastructure, Global Risk Management, etc.
- Responsible for delivering regular and ad-hoc reporting of Cyber/IT Risk posture to enable strategic decision-making.
- Identifies trending areas of Cyber/IT risk applicable to PB/CB
- Provides supporting data for ongoing improvement of PB/CB Cyber/IT Risk Dashboard
- Carries out research into areas of perceived elevated or emerging operational risk, throughout all areas of Personal Banking and Commercial Banking
- Completes qualitative and quantitative analysis of internal and external Cyber/IT risk information, including PB/CB operational risk indicators.
- Develops and maintains operational documentation
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- 5+ years Cyber/IT experience
- 5+ years in the financial services industry
- University/College degree, or Cyber/IT related experience
- Solid knowledge of RBC T&O Cyber/IT Controls and Reporting tools/dashboards, products, processes and organization to support PB/CB BMAs, Operational Risk Directors with respect to Cyber/IT risk monitoring/oversight.
- Professional oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Good impact and influence capability
- Strong problem solving, analytical and qualitative analysis skills
- Knowledge of Canadian Banking products, processes and organization
- Advanced MS Excel (Pivot tables, downloading reports, formatting spreadsheets), good knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
