WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Senior Technical Analyst will support the pre-production and Disaster Recovery for the mainframe environment. The resource will provide 2nd level support for implementing software and hardware changes with on-call rotation.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Provide 2nd level 7/24 on-call/hybrid work support for all GCC System Z mainframe environments.

  • Ensure that processes are established to provide maximum availability to all clients.

  • Contribute to the ongoing process of DRP of all System Z environments.

  • Participate in the implementation and roll out of new hardware/software.

  • Plan and co-ordinate the roll out of major releases on the many images including software and hardware.

  • Improve reporting, tracking and escalation of high-severity problems especially those that have a high probability of affecting production availability.

  • Provides direction, expertise, feedback, coaching and development to build the capability of more junior staff.

  • Continually enhances skills and builds knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business and information systems.

  • Create the appropriate Problem Resolution Procedures.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline

  • Required and suggested experience with:

    • IBM zSeries hardware

    • IBM z/OS operating system

    • REXX

    • IMS, DB2, CICS, MQ series, TSO, ISPF, WebSphere, SA390, ServiceNow, Change Management, Incident Management, GDPS, DFSMS.

    • SA/390 System Automation

    • Mainframe infrastructure hardware and software products
