What will you do?

  • Assists Accounts Payable team in achieving timely and accurate invoice and AP voucher processing, sorting/scanning mail & invoices, and timely completion of month end activities
  • Assists Accounts Payable Supervisor in identifying potential bottlenecks or issues and recommends resolutions
  • Ensures the Accounts Payable vendor master information is up-to-date
  • Maintains a systematic and up-to-date filing system for all Accounts Payable records
  • Resolves vendor issues on a monthly basis
  • Ensures daily and weekly cheque runs are processed timely and accurately
  • Maintains excellent professional relationships with vendors and internal customers and provides proactive customer service in assisting with inquiries regarding account status information and other requests
  • Audit and process employee expense reports in the Concur expense management system, ensuring compliance with our company policies and approval workflows
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in Accounts Payable operations, policies and practices
  • Ensures all payment approvals are in accordance with the Reliance Signing Authority Matrix
  • Fosters a strong control environment by ensuring that departmental internal controls are maintained, spot checks the effectiveness of controls and takes corrective action as required
  • Supports onboarding and participate in training new hires.

What do you bring?

  • Post secondary education with a major in business/accounting and equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable capacity (clerk/coordinator/analyst)
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Advanced data analytical skills using Excel (i.e. Pivot tables), navigating within multiple worksheets
  • Prior experience with accounting software, i.e. SAP, SAP Concur would be an asset
