This full-time permanent position is with an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers a wide range of assignments. The Board operates 2 administration buildings and 20 schools (18 elementary, 2 secondary) in 13 communities covering 7851 square kilometers for the welfare of 4,580 pupils. For more information visit our web site at: https://rccdsb.ca/ Union Affiliation: COPE, Local 103 S UMMARY: The Network and Systems Analyst reports directly to the Manager of IT and is responsible for ensuring the stable, secure, and compliant operation of the organization's network infrastructure and computer systems. This includes maintaining existing systems, implementing new technologies, providing technical support, and ensuring adherence to cybersecurity and AI regulations (including Bill 194). JOB DUTIES: Collaborate with IT management and stakeholders to plan network upgrades and expansions Participate in IT projects, contributing technical expertise and assisting with implementation Research and recommend new technologies and solutions to align with business goals Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points) Supervise Network Specialists, providing guidance and training to junior IT staff or end-users, and overseeing the work of external vendors or contractors Install and configure software applications and operating systems Perform routine system maintenance, including backups, updates, and security patches Troubleshoot network and system issues, identifying and resolving root causes Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and inventory Develop and implement cybersecurity programs in accordance with Bill 194, including internal responsibility, education, incident response, and oversight Ensure compliance with AI regulations by developing and implementing accountability frameworks and managing associated risks Publish information about AI use and ensure transparency in AI system operations Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and report any breaches or unauthorized disclosures of personal information Ensure compliance with technical standards for cybersecurity and AI systems as set by the government REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor�s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, MCSA, CISSP) are preferred Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in network administration and/or system analysis This position requires regular travel to various locations within Renfrew County. A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are essential Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Demonstrated experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), network topologies, and security best practices Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques Experience with server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization technologies Ability to analyze complex technical problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) Experience with AI systems and understanding of associated ethical and legal considerations Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, users, and vendors Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to attend and conduct presentations Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals and Overtime as required CLOSING: All interested applicants are invited to submit an updated resume including details of qualifications, experience and professional references.
