What you’ll do

Position Title: SAP iXp Intern - Design Systems Designer

Location: Vancouver, BC

Expected Start Date: May 2025

Contract Duration: 8 months

Work Hours: 40 hours per week

We’re looking for a Design Systems Intern to help enhance and expand our design system. This role is perfect for a student or recent graduate eager to gain real-world experience in design systems, UI consistency, and scalable design solutions.

  • Collaborate with the TripIt UX and development teams to refine, update, and expand the design system
  • Design and document new components, patterns, and guidelines that enhance usability and efficiency while ensuring compliance with WCAG guidelines
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining Figma libraries, ensuring assets are well-structured and accessible
  • Participate in team critiques and UX reviews, gathering feedback to refine your work

What you bring

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field

Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled, or recently graduated (start date must be within 6 months of graduation date) from a coding academy/bootcamp, apprenticeship, associate, bachelor’s, master’s or JD/PhD program

  • Strong foundational skills in Figma (component creation, auto-layout, styles, variants)
  • Basic understanding of design systems, UI patterns, and atomic design principles
  • Interest in scalability, consistency, and accessibility in design

SAP provides the hourly base salary rate range applicable for the posted role. The targeted range for this position is 24-35 CAD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidates will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Due to the nature of the role, which involves global interactions with SAP entities, as well as with employees and stakeholders in Canada, functional proficiency in English is required for positions based in the Quebec.
