Substitute Teacher - All Grade Levels

Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre requires substitute teachers with teaching experience in Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Practical & Applied Ars, English, Social Studies/History, Financial Literacy/Business/Accounting, Agriculture and Wellness/Health education at all grade levels to be assigned at each of our regional campus locations across the province.

Sask DLC is a newly formed Treasury Board Crown Corporation in Saskatchewan, created to deliver high-quality and equitable online learning programs to students across the province. Sask DLC’s head office is located in Kenaston, with an administrative office in Regina, and nine regional campuses located in Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Estevan, Yorkton, Saskatoon, Nipawin, Prince Albert, Neilburg and La Ronge. Sask DLC delivers online programming to full-time K-12 students and part-time students attending schools across the province.

Experience in student support, online teaching or online program supervision would be considered an asset.

At Sask DLC, we are committed to providing students with a quality online educational experience; an integral part of that being meaningful student and parent interactions. As an online instructor, you will work with students in an online environment and will in most cases, be the primary point of contact for our learners. We are seeking to recruit a teacher who seeks to understand the challenges of online learning and strives to create real connections with our students, bridging the distance between them.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• student-centred decision making; knowledge of curriculum, current instructional and assessment strategies;

• innovation and creativity to support students achieving learning outcomes in a variety of approaches that fit student needs and interest;

• effective communication with parents on student educational needs and progress;

• effective and efficient time management and organizational abilities;

• flexibility with the capacity to problem solve; motivation to be an adult learner

• strengths in collegiality and collaboration; commitment to work collaboratively with all staff to carry out the mission and vision of the Sask DLC

• communicate clear and effective feedback on student progress; and

• experience with technologies such as Clevr, Moodle, MySchoolSask, and online communication software would be considered an asset.

Candidates are required to have their own equipment as well as the appropriate internet bandwidth. Otherwise, the option will be available to attend at a regional campus.
