Monday-Friday

This is a temporary contract position.

This position is effective October 28, 2024, and will continue until June 30th, 2025 or until the return of the incumbent, whichever comes first.

While all applicants will be considered, preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry.

The starting annual salary for a school teacher position ranges from $60,000 to $110,000, with placement on the range based on the length of service and qualifications in accordance in accordance with the collective agreement. Positions of Special Responsibility receive an additional pay allowance in accordance with the collective agreement based on the levels 1, 2, or 3.

Intermediate Teacher

BC Teaching Certificate membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch and eligibility for Teacher Qualification Service card.

recognized degree in elementary education

certification at the intermediate level

training in intermediate education

current demonstrated ability to teach at an intermediate level

excellent classroom management skills

Demonstrated current knowledge of the subject area, including Big Ideas, curricular competencies, content and appropriate resources

experience and skill working with behavioural challenged students

experience with current literacy practices - including the District WCRA and PM Benchmarks

the ability to differentiate instruction based on student needs

strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills

sound knowledge of technologies and their educational application

an understanding and appreciation of the importance of First Nations Language & culture

knowledge of current instructional practices and the ability to adapt curriculum, programs and instruction to meet the diverse needs of students

demonstrated ability to support students, consult with parents and work collaboratively

ability to integrate use of technology to support instruction, web-based reporting and communicating with the school community

interest in contributing to the professional community at the school

Demonstrate current understanding of culturally responsive learning environment and assessment practices
