Central Okanagan Public Schools is located in the Central Okanagan encompassing the communities of Peachland, West Kelowna, Kelowna, and Lake Country. Health & Safety Occupational Claims and Appeals Coordinator

Full time Health & Safety Occupational Claims and Appeals Coordinator

Pay Grade 12 - Job #1214 - $33.99/hour

The workload for this position is thirty-five (35) hours per week, twelve (12) months of the year.

Under the supervision of the Health & Safety Manager - WorkSafe Injury Management:

• Provides effective Disability Case Management of Occupational illness/injury claims in accordance with WorkSafeBC including clerical duties;

• Communicates with key stakeholders to facilitate the safe and timely return to work for ill/injured employees;

• Assesses Monthly Claims Cost reports for accuracy;

• Maintains online statistical database for several School Districts;

• Researches then prepares submissions for WorkSafeBC Review Division and WCAT Appeals.

Qualifications:

• Completed Grade 12 and (2) two years Post-Secondary Education;

• Minimum of (3) years previous experience, including one (1) year on the job, with WorkSafe BC, short-term disability or long-term disability processes;

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook);

• Net typing speed of fifty (50) words per minute.

• Possess good organizational and analytical skills

• Maintain a professional approach during pressure situations such as high workload volume or calls of an emotionally charged nature;
