Secondary Alternate Teacher

POSITION: Secondary Alternate Teacher - temporary INITIAL ASSIGNMENT: English, Career Education. Interpersonal and Family Relationships 11 course is taught daily (RAP) as part of the alternate program for students. 3 Blocks of English 8-12, 2 blocks of Career Life Education 10/Career Life Connections 12, 1 prep block and case management time provided for CBIEP development, student learning plan development and student planning. FTE: 0.2 LOCATION: McNaughton Centre EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing January 17, 2025 until March 31, 2025, or earlier depending on the return of the incumbent Basic Qualifications: A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following: Training Specialization: Secondary Education with a major/minor in English Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience teaching at the secondary level A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff. Additional Qualifications: Two or more courses at the 300 or 400 level in English Other: The focus of the program at McNaughton Centre is to foster positive relationships and support students in academic and social goals. It is important that the successful candidate be willing to collaborate and be part of a team that is creative and supportive in achieving student success.The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
