Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Assignment Area(s): Computer Programing 11/12, AP Computer Science, Computer Studies 9/10, Entrepreneurship 12, Marketing & Promotion 11

Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

Effective Date: Immediately until not later than June 30, 2025.

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
  • demonstrated ability to recognize individual student differences and effectively differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the learning needs of all students in a diverse classroom for all subjects in this assignment
  • Academic qualifications and experience in teaching Computer Programming, Computer Science, and Computer Studies at the secondary level.
  • Academic qualifications and experience in teaching Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Promotion at the secondary level.
  • demonstrated use of highly successful instructional strategies in the classroom
  • demonstrated ability to adapt or modify curriculum for students who are experiencing difficulties
  • knowledgeable about, and committed to balanced assessment practices
  • demonstrated use of highly successful instructional strategies in the classroom
  • demonstrated excellent classroom management behaviour management and classroom organization skills
  • demonstrated sensitivity, awareness and understanding of adolescent development and enthusiasm for working and developing positive relationships with adolescents
  • demonstrated sensitivity, awareness and understanding of adolescent development and enthusiasm for working, and developing positive relationships, with adolescents
  • demonstrated ability to Indigenize curriculum and work from a philosophy consistent with First People's Principles of Learning.
