Salary Range: $59,711 - $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

Effective Date: September 1, 2025

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
  • Familiar with SSDAS, Paradigm, and MyEdBC for reporting purposes
  • A demonstrated ability and commitment to embed the Curricular Content and Competencies in a play-based curriculum conducive to the social/emotional, academic, and physical development of young learners
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with applying effective strategies to support the development of literacy skills; preference will be given to individuals with successful experience using Talking Tables/Moe the Mouse, Story Workshop, Guided Reading and Daily 5 small group instruction strategies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and successful experience with applying effective strategies to support the development of numeracy skills; preference will be given to individuals with successful experience using Number Talks and Daily 3 small group instruction strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize proactive classroom management strategies, including PBS, in order to promote a positive and effective classroom learning environment as well as throughout the school
  • Demonstrated ability to select, modify or adapt instructional materials to meet the individual academic, social/emotional, and behavioural needs of students
  • Dhe ability to utilize a variety of assessment processes that effectively allow students to show what they know (assessment for, as, of learning), and allow the teacher to plan for/adjust instruction to meet the collective and individual learning needs of students
  • Proven commitment and strong ability to work with colleagues in a collaborative fashion to engage in shared planning, shared decision making and to develop a strong and caring professional learning community in support of the School Growth Plan
  • Proven ability to demonstrate and apply excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, and parents
  • experience, training, and a willingness to carry out the District Early Intervention Screens, including the KLST (Kindergarten Language Screening Test)
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member in developing CBIEPs and to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and administration in the implementation of these plans (School Based Team model)
  • Knowledge, experience, and willingness to support the Aboriginal Enhancement Agreement goals
  • Willingness to make outdoor learning and play part of the daily routines of learning
