A Speech & Language Pathologist plays a crucial role in helping students overcome communication challenges. They assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders, working closely with students, teachers, and families to develop personalized therapy plans. Through individual or group sessions, they address difficulties in articulation, language comprehension, fluency, and social communication skills. Additionally, they provide support for students with swallowing disorders, ensuring their safety and well-being in educational settings. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Masters degree or equivalent training in Speech & Language Pathology
Eligibility for membership in the Speech and Hearing B.C. Association or the Speech-Language Audiology Canada Association
Eligibility for membership to the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of B.C.
Experience which includes the following would be desirable: diagnostic experience in the full range of communication disorders, including language disorders, articulation, disorders of fluency and voice, and the hearing impaired
Background of clinical experience, and the ability to plan and initiate appropriate therapeutic strategies for individual children and small groups of children
Experience in acting in a consultative capacity with associate professional staff
Or equivalent training, or experience

PLEASE NOTE
The starting annual salary for this School Teacher position ranges from $50,000 to $104,000, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
