The Richmond School
District is seeking a qualified full-time Secondary French Immersion
teacher for PHE and Science 8/9
.All candidates must be certified by the BC Ministry of Education -
Teacher Regulation Branch.

This position will consist of:
Semester #1 - (1) Science 8 French Immersion, (2) PHE French Immersion, (1 ) PHE 8 French Immersion
Semester #2 - (1) PHE French Immersion 8, (1) PHE 9 French Immersion, (1) Science 8 French Immersion
The successful candidate for this position must possess current academic and professional preparation and recent teaching experience in these subjects and at various levels.
Applicants are expected to work in a collaborative environment and to have demonstrated such ability. Flexibility and the ability to adapt practice, strategies and/or curriculum to respond to students’ needs is essential. In addition, applicants will have demonstrated commitment to implementing all aspects of the new curriculum; including a competency and inquiry-based, big ideas approach to teaching and learning.
The students in all classes at McMath will range from those who are highly skilled in a curricular area to those who need further support in skill and competency development. A demonstrated ability to engage with students from diverse cultural and language backgrounds and with a wide variety of learning needs and styles is required. Recent work experience must reflect a commitment to collaboration, teamwork, and a willingness to work closely with other colleagues in a professional and supportive environment. At McMath, all teachers support and implement our school behaviour expectations through ‘McMath Pride’.
Many of the junior science students take part in an extensive, multi-week science fair at McMath. The successful candidate is encouraged to participate, support and assess their students as they complete their projects and presentations. The PHE department is supportive, collaborates with each other, and their focus is on total wellness for the body and the mind.
