THE OPPORTUNITY: SYSTEMS ANALYST (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT C)

In this position, you will:

Perform requirement gathering with internal and external groups to determine project requirements and develop solutions

Review and analyze IT systems and processes to identify effectiveness and efficiency and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems

Assign tasks and monitor progress for other team colleagues

Provide mentorship to team colleagues on the utilization of our district technology toolsets

Establish standards and procedures and write specifications, documentation for technical systems and Privacy and Compliance including Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA)

Prepare and execute detailed plans for complex multi-functional projects

Define and implement standard procedures and best practices

Develop and deliver training workshops for technical and end user audiences

Liaise with stakeholders, LIT teams, vendors, contractors and other third parties as required to support district services

Prepare maintenance and communication plans for district services to ensure they remain fit for purpose

Prepare and deliver presentations to service stakeholders and colleagues on service solutions and technical environments

Perform information technology support to the Division

Perform other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of grade 12 plus more than two (2) years of full time equivalent post-secondary training in a relevant technology discipline

Minimum of four (4) years progressive experience in a relevant computer systems/technology application development discipline

Experience working in a K-12 education organization an asset

Proficiency in the methodologies used for software and website development, including requirement gathering and specification drafting, is required

Proven track record of managing and coordinating large-scale IT projects

In-depth knowledge of Office 365 technologies and Microsoft solutions is essential

A solid understanding of privacy and compliance in relation to software and data systems is necessary

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), problem-solving, and experience in designing/delivering presentations

Must be able to meet the following assessment: Hands-on 1 hour series of tasks/problems (70%+)

COMPENSATION

The salary for this position is $41.74/hour (paid as 7 hours/day) plus a comprehensive benefits package, including Municipal Pension Plan, Vancouver Employee Savings Plan, Extended Health, Dental, Group Life, Long Term Disability, Vacation, & Gratuity Days. Pre-approved overtime hours paid as double-time ($81.04/hour).

This position is 100% on-site (in-person) at the VSB Office (1580 West Broadway).
