MATHEMATICS TEACHER
Part-time (0.5714 FTE) position
Rockridge Secondary School
Effective immediately until return of the absent teacher
The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.
Required Qualifications and Experience
A part time position (0.5714 FTE Day One) teaching Grades 8 & 10 MYP Mathematics is available. This position replaces the teacher on a leave of absence. The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:
Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching Junior Math:
Solid understanding of the BC Ministry curriculum and learning standards within the Math;
Ability to evaluate and report on student progress using Ministry of Education and IB MYP assessment standards and practices;
A willingness to work collaboratively with the IB MYP Coordinator and other classroom teachers to authentically develop IB MYP units of study;
A commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum;
An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners;
A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills;
Strong communication skills;
Hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate
