POSTED: January 21, 2025 CLOSING DATE: January 28, 2025 COMPETITION: 2024-141 ENGLISH/ FRENCH IMMERSION / FSL TEACHER Full time (1.0 FTE) temporary position Sentinel Secondary School Effective March 10th, 2025* until June 30, 2025 The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE. Required Qualifications and Experience A full-time English/French Second Language/French Immersion(1.0 FTE) teaching position consisting of English 8, FSL 12 and 2 blocks of FRIM (FRAL 8 and Careers 10) is available at Sentinel Secondary School *effective upon the teachers departure*. This position replaces a teacher on maternity leave. The successful candidate must have: Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching French Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching English Hold a BC Professional Teaching Certificate Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology with the curriculum. Knowledge of the Ministry of education Prescribed Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Integrated Resource Packages, (IRPs) as well as providing evidence of the use of criterion referenced assessment and Performance Standards. Possess excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners. Knowledge and willingness to use Inquiry-based approach to planning and teaching A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.
