Description
The Board of Education of School District No. 50 (Haida Gwaii) is seeking a TEMPORARY full-time (1.0 FTE) School Psychologist effective September 3, 2024 until June 28, 2025.
Requirements:
A Master's Degree in School Psychology, Educational Psychology or equivalent;
BC College of Teachers certification;
Membership in the BC College of Psychologists;
Training and recent experience in providing psych-educational assessments for K- 12 students (Level C as per Ministry guidelines);
Knowledge and skills in the identification procedures and program planning for students with diverse learning needs including autism, behavioural and developmental exceptionalities, learning disabilities, etc.;
Working knowledge of and experience in Indigenous education;
Proven experience in the development of positive, collaborative and consultative working relationships with students, parents, colleagues and school support staff;
The ability to write clear and effective reports;
The ability to assist school based Special Education and Learning Resource teachers;
Be a strong advocate for students with diverse learning needs;
The ability to use technology effectively and efficiently;
Valid BC Driver's License.
Competitive Salary: $65,971 - $113,321 per annum Remote and Rural Allowance: $3,035 per annum
Travel Allowance: $1,136 per annum
