TEMPORARY JOB POSTING
SILVERTHORNE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
1.0 FTE TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT PRIMARY
EFFECTIVE: January 30, 2025 to June 30, 2025
This position is eligible for the current provincial recruitment and retention allowance for new certified teachers to SD54.
The successful candidate will:
Have training and / or experience at the Primary level, and at leading a possible combined grade class, with an emphasis on early literacy / language arts;
Be familiar with the Early Learning Framework;
Provide a child focused approach utilizing current methodology and strategies;
Be familiar with and apply principles of Self-Regulation;
Have knowledge and commitment to using current assessment strategies, including formative assessment;
Have a commitment to the direction of the school as outlined in the School Growth Plan;
Embed the First Nations Principles of Learning in all subject areas;
Be committed to and practice the philosophy of inclusion;
Preferably have experience at implementing the Early Primary Reading Assessment;
Be committed to working as a cooperative, collaborative member of a school wide instructional team and attend meetings as required;
Be committed to consultation, parent conferences, and positive home/school/community liaison;
Be able to work with students with a variety of behaviours and use positive approaches to support behaviour change;
Have experience in the use of computer technology in the classroom;
Have experience using technology for communicating student learning.
Applicants should be aware that attendance at staff meetings, professional development activities and school-based team meetings is considered an integral element of assignments.

Silverthorne Elementary School
SALARY: The starting annual salary for full-time Elementary School position ranges from $62,718 to $110,161, with placement on the range based on length of services and qualification in accordance with the collective agreement. Additionally, $3,035 annually as a Remote & Rural Allowance.
