MERRITT CENTRAL ELEMENTARY & MERRITT SECONDARY SCHOOL 0.35 FTE Continuing part-time (Okanagan Language) nsyilxcen Language Instructor at Merritt Secondary, beginning immediately. 0.35 FTE Continuing part-time (Okanagan Language) nsyilxcen Language Instructor at Merritt Central Elementary, beginning immediately. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Be a fluent speaker of the nsyilxcen L anguage. Possess a First Nations Language teacher certificate for nsyilxcen Language or be eligible for this certificate. · Have a good understanding of Syilx culture. · Training and experience working with grade-level students. · Experience with adapting materials, resources, assessments and learning outcomes for student needs. · Valid BC Teaching certificate or eligible for Letter of Permission. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: · A commitment to supporting a variety of learning needs. · Experience/training in supporting the social-emotional learning needs of students. · Committed to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students, staff and parents. · Committed to working as a member of a school team in support of students. The starting annual salary for this full-time teacher position ranges from $60,090 - $109,520 , with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
