Rocky Mountain International Student Program (RMISP) is seeking self-motivated, organized, and collaborative individuals to fill the role of Casual Homestay Coordinator in Revelstoke, BC . This is a casual, on call position with irregular hours. Compensation for this position varies according to the employment situation and hours worked.

School District No. 6 (Rocky Mountain) is located on the traditional unceded territories of the Ktunaxa and Secwepemc Nations in the beautiful Columbia Valley. The District has shared service agreements with School District 5 (Southeast Kootenay), School District 19 (Revelstoke) and School District 83 (North Okanagan-Shuswap). Rocky Mountain International Student Program places more than 150 international students each year in the communities of Revelstoke, Golden, Invermere, Kimberley, Cranbrook, Fernie, Sparwood, Sicamous, Salmon Arm, Enderby and Armstrong.

The successful candidate will:

Work closely with the Directory of International Education and Program Coordinator to support international students and area host families,

Attend and chaperone a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, events and student trips,

Be on call to provide advice and support to program participants and to attend to emergency situations,

Meet and communicate with international student and RMISP staff on a regular basis,

Hold a valid Class 5 BC Driver license,

Own a personal vehicle suitable for transporting students (when required),

Have or be willing to obtain Occupational First Aid (Level 1), and

Perform other related duties as required.

The successful candidate is an individual who has experience working with an international student program, experience as a host parent and/or experience working with high school aged students, brings a “customer service” orientation, and has experience organizing/supervising activities and events.
