We invite applications for the position of On-Call Administrative Assistant - Hornby Island. The current rate of pay is $27.84 per hour plus 16.3% in lieu of benefits.
Contact Days: Monday to Thursday
Qualifications:
Grade 12 education supplemented by completion of an office administration program certificate; typing speed of 50 wpm; proficient in Microsoft Office Programs; minimum of two years of current clerical experience; experience in the use of relevant office equipment; meets the physical requirements of the position; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Duties/Responsibilities:
Duties are performed under the supervision of the school Principal or Vice Principal, or designate; prepares a variety of correspondence, reports, and other necessary material using appropriate word processing equipment; assists with preparation and
maintenance of student records; prepares daily student attendance records from information provided by staff; operates intercom and public address system to receive calls and make announcements; performs telephone and reception duties; processes
incoming and outgoing mail and other material; receives and receipts incoming cash for various school funds; assists with other office duties as directed by the principal or senior clerical staff; follows proper work procedures, observes all regulations pertinent to
the work, maintains a good working relationship with other employees, and cooperates in maintaining a healthy learning and working environment; supports students in the office by creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere and by referring students to appropriate school staff in a timely manner; performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor; student supervision as required by the Principal or Vice Principal.
