SUMMARY

Mission Public Schools is seeking an innovative and progressive Director of Instruction Student Services who brings compassion, leadership, and respect to the workplace. Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent, the Director of Instruction Student Services works alongside other optimistic, enthusiastic, and caring members of the District Leadership Team, working to achieve the District's strategic goals.

The incumbent coordinates inclusive education services to deliver a full range of programs for students through an evidence informed, neuroaffirming lens. This position requires an educator who has a deep commitment to truth and reconciliation with culturally responsive, strength-based approaches. Through collaboration, active listening, and a trauma informed attitude the director would work with educators, families, multidisciplinary teams, and community to provide high quality learning experiences in safe and caring environments consistently across the district's schools. Implementing an equitable allocation of accessible and inclusive services and supports, the Director endeavours to design programs that ensure student's unique gifts are fostered through their learning journey. The ideal candidate is an engaged, visionary thinker with a solid K-12 educational background and joy of learning.

E DUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Master's degree in a relevant educational field

Valid BC Teaching Certificate, in good standing with the Teacher Regulation Branch

A clear Criminal Record is required for this position, with a review to be updated every five (5) years.

Current and valid BC driver's license and safe driving record.

EXPERIENCE

Significant school and/or district leadership in a variety of K to 12 program areas, preferably in a public school district

Pay range is $168,745 to $183,418. Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of qualifications and ability to meet the key requirements of the job, and consideration of internal equity comparisons.
