This is a temporary assignment effective immediately to June 30, 2025.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Education (Middle or Secondary training)
Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch.
Teachers applying for this position should possess the following attributes:
demonstrated successful teaching experience with middle school aged students;
current knowledge of the Grade 7 curriculum;
ability to comfortably work with and respond to a very involved parent community;
demonstrated ability to use a variety of current instructional strategies and assessment methods;
evidence of ability to effectively use current assessment practices;
demonstrated ability to use effective teaching practices in relation to the three principles of learning;
evidence of ability to motivate middle school students;
committed to stimulating student interest and confidence in learning;
ability to create a sense of belonging for students;
willingness to work in a co-teaching environment;
excellent classroom management skills;
understanding of middle school philosophy and adolescent development;
understanding of restitution practices;
commitment to involving parents in the learning of their children.
