POSITION: Director, Adult Learning Centre
EFFECTIVE: September 2, 2025
Applications are invited for the directorship of Adult Learning Centre.
Seven Oaks School Division considers each school to be unique. Each school has specific needs relative to students, parent community, teaching staff and program. Effective leadership at the school level will consider and address the unique interrelationship among these variables.
General Criteria for Director Selection Candidates will be required to demonstrate:
- Professional Learning
- Professional contributions
- A strong educational philosophy
- Demonstrated leadership
- Leadership that speaks to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- A progressive vision of adult education
- Experience teaching and working with adults
- Familiarity with the adult learner landscape in Manitoba
- Thorough knowledge of the Manitoba K-12curricula
- Commitment to Indigenous Education, Truth, and Reconciliation.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and build on the strengths of students, staff, and the school.
- Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with the community.
- Ability to nurture a school culture that is open, caring, inclusive and secure.
- Ability to reflect on practice and to engage all staff in connecting classroom practice to the broader purposes of education and the values of the Seven Oaks
Educational Qualifications:
- a valid Manitoba teaching certificate and a certificate, diploma or degree in adult education;
- a valid Manitoba teaching certificate and at least one year of graduate studies in education at the post-baccalaureate level, masters level or beyond;
- other appropriate educational credentials deemed valid according to The Adult Learning Centres Act.
