Bilingual Legal Clerk/Assistant - 73658
Line of Business: T&O
Duration: 6 months (Possibility of Extension and/or Conversion)
Working hours: 7:30 - 4:00/ 8:00 - 4:30
Location: Montreal [candidate will be completely on site during training, and move to 3 days a week in office once they are up and running]
Role Mandate: Candidate will be joining a team accountable for executing court ordered requests for information received from a wide variety of agencies across Canada.
Must-Have Skills:
• Bilingual French/English [must be completely fluent; written and verbal]
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and pivot based on the level of urgency
• Strong prioritization skills
• Legal background with time as legal assistant or paralegal
• Comfortable liaising with external and internal parties regarding active requests
• Law enforcement, Law firms, Security Commissions etc
• Familiarity with Microsoft suite [Excel, Outlook]
• Works collaboratively with team members
• Familiarity with both legal and Banking terminology
Nice to Have Skills:
• Previous Banking experience
Role Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
• Assist with the interpretation of requests in order to determine what information is being requested
• Provide instruction to their colleagues who will be executing the requests
• Ensuring requests are diligently handled, and that the necessary documentation was provided while ensuring any privacy or security risks are mitigated
• Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders are various levels of seniority
• Including law enforcement agencies, security commissions, and governing bodies
• Act as a subject matter expert for team members looking for assistance with their requests
