Description
Our valued health-care client is seeking a Junior IT Asset Management Specialist for an initial 7 month contract in Ottawa, ON (possibility for extension).
This role will require working in Ottawa adhering to the client’s hybrid model (2 days a week on-site).
As the successful candidate you will support the IT Asset Management team with a variety of tasks including review of software contract renewals, requirements, negotiations, Compliance and Audit, and Inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in contract renewals discussions to ensure renewal terms.
- Perform on-going assessments of potential changes between software entitlements and software usage and ensure management is informed of discrepancies.
- Proactively seek information and maintain an awareness regarding updates to vendor’s terms and conditions.
- Collect information and help optimize volume licensing agreements and minimize the risk of over-purchasing.
- Eliminate costs that result from mistakenly acquiring too many licenses.
- Perform inventories and usage monitoring of IT software assets/licensing.
- Assist to develop communication and education strategies to assist the organization’s employees to understand the goals of the program.
- Work with other teams to implement vendor’s license management or inventory tools.
- Provide feedback on opportunities for maximizing or exploiting unused or partially used IT assets to achieve full efficiency and ROI.
- Monitor and analyze trends in company spending and inventory control to make recommendations for the future, and to identify areas for possible savings and/or asset optimization.
- Assist with the automation of manual processes for smoother, more efficient operation.
- Understand and potentially operate some of the following tools for software inventory, license management, software metering, application control, software deployment, patch management, request management, and product catalogue.
- Support the Gap analysis report - Pull reports on a biweekly basis to verify data accuracy.
- Comply with SLAs based on ITSM tickets assigned to the IT Software Asset Management Group
Must-have skills:
- 2+ years’ experience in an IT environment working with IT Asset Management (as a Deskside Support Technician, Service Desk Analyst, or similar role)
- Knowledge of vendor management, contract management and understanding of IT software assets/licensing used across an organization.
- Knowledge of data analysis and reporting on key data to monitor trends.
Nice-to-have skills.
- Proven expertise with vendor management and managing organizations IT software assets.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment.
