REMOTE - Senior Tech Lead to implement a Workflow Module in Appian platform - 19234

Our telecom client is looking for a Senior Tech Lead to implement a Workflow Module in Appian platform

Initially 6 months contract with chances of extension. Fully remote in Canada.

Must have:

• 7+ years of experience in full stack developer:
• front-end development (e.g. ES2018 JavaScript, React, CSS)
• back-end development (e.g. Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis)
• Knowledge of designing and documenting APIs (e.g. Springboot, Kong)
• Experiences with DevOps tools and technologies (Kibana, NewRelic, Kubernetes, Docker)
• Experience mentoring junior team members, overseeing code quality and evangelizing best practices
• Experience as Tech Lead gathering and aligning requirements with technical and product team

Nice to have skills:

• Experience using JIRA boards and sprints
• Knowledge of working in or developing in the Appian platform
• Knowledge of Cloud Based Applications including Postgres, AWS, GCP, APIs, Microservices
• Experience with TELUS IT network architecture and security protocols
• Knowledge or experience with Project Management Methodologies

Responsibilities:

• Challenge, mentor and guide the team to implement best practices
• Advocate the use of unit testing and test driven development to drive design and development
• Implement & Advocate accessibility best practices (We believe in an accessible web for everyone)
• Lead technical team members in an agile environment (we like Scrum, Kanban)
• Evaluate technology choices and rapidly test solutions
• Setting the technical vision for your team, and working with the technical leadership to define the roadmap for the applications that your team supports
• Work with product owners to support translating business deliverables into technical outcomes
• Design scalable systems with performance and security in mind
• Identify and solve front-end development issues experienced by customers
• Work with Architects to define the roadmap and technical vision for our software platforms

Scope:

• Objective would be to launch a Workflow Module in Appian for our Growth & Sustainment Infrastructure Team. Initial engagement has been done and early stages of development. This involves integration with SAP. We are at the very early stages of embarking on a transformational strategic investment. We are about 15% through and expect the total program to take 5 years. It's our expectation that this module should take about 12 months to develop.
