Description
Our Public Sector Client is looking for a Senior Report Developer to do technical development report-building, data modelling and design and implement engaging and visually compelling reports, dashboards and presentations for the for AI/Innovation department - 0116402
1 year contract, possibilities of extensions. Hybrid in office, 3 days/week.
Expected Start Date: Jan 2025
Must Have:
- 5+ years of experience with MS Power BI, MS Excel and with applications like PowerApps and Report Builder
- 2+ years of experience programming, specifically with Python
- 1+ year of experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP), and generative AI.
- Experience with building data repository with data models geared to enable self-service, distinguishing departmental vs enterprise data, and resourcefully incorporating or accessing data from different sources. Sources may include systems such as Azure DevOps, Dynatrace, ServiceNow or financial and other corporate solutions.
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) training and certification such as SAFe Practitioner, or a commitment to undertake training and obtain certification within 2 months from commencement of work.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
Overview:
- The Report Specialist is responsible to deliver and maintain reports and analytics for their department and its stakeholders, including measures and metrics used to baseline then track progress and validate hypotheses on rapid prototypes.
- The role is analytical, data-savvy and requires a report developer skillset. It requires a balance between technical expertise and the ability to build a compelling story using data, presenting complex data in visually engaging and actionable formats.
- The Reporting Specialist demonstrates by example, using their own analytics to gain insights and proactively advise and strategize with the department head and their department.
- Responsible throughout the lifecycle of an analytics or reporting solution, the Report Specialist gathers requirements, iteratively building, testing and validating the solution and understand how to abstract and present meaningful insights for different audiences. Upholding security, privacy and governance policies, they build departmental data assets, manage their data sets and models, and partner with Analytics and Data Services (ADS) when needed to migrate assets to an enterprise level.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and test effective, engaging and visually compelling reports, dashboards and presentations using tools such as PowerBI, Excel, PowerApps, PowerPoint and Report Builder, identifying the optimal technology and delivery channel for intended use and audience.
- Gather and validate requirements iteratively, interviewing stakeholders to understand problems and opportunities, validating through fast feedback loops and incorporating insights from observations of behavioral and other impacts when measures and metrics are used.
- Build a departmental data repository with data models geared to enable self-service, distinguishing departmental vs enterprise data, and resourcefully incorporating or accessing data from different sources. Sources may include systems such as Azure DevOps, Dynatrace, ServiceNow or financial and other corporate solutions.
- Set-up minimum-viable data governance, upholding the necessary security and privacy controls and data governance policies.
- Maintain department's data, analytics and reporting solutions, resolving issues, answering questions, and managing the solution lifecycle by retiring solutions or migrating to enterprise or stakeholders when needed.
- Champion the use of data, reporting and analytics solutions to inform decisions and validate approaches by leading by example, building intuitive, easy-to-understand solutions, and embedding cross training and sharing opportunities into existing collaboration events.
