Senior Top Secret Cleared Technology Architect (10+ years) to support a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) implementation project.

Our valued public sector client requires the services of a Senior Top Secret Cleared Technology Architect (10+ years) to support a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) implementation project.

The department has been implementing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) over the last few years. Much of the implementation was done in a somewhat piecemeal approach without always taking into consideration the whole environment. The resource will initially work with department personnel in reviewing current systems and documenting them as is. Then the resource will be called upon to define any weaknesses and/or omissions in the systems. Then the resources will work with the department to re-design/re-position the systems to better meet current and future needs.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluate the current VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) deployments including (but not limited to), Call Managers, gateways, group, call routing, calling spaces, communication protocols, and infrastructure.
• The specialist will also evaluate requirements and present and future needs.
• Based on the evaluation and the requirements, the specialist will provide recommendations / improvements and a plan featuring a phased implementation of the recommendations.
• The VoIP specialist will implement the recommendations or assist /direct personnel with the implementation.
• The VoIP specialist will create / update documentation as needed and provide knowledge transfer to personnel.
• The VoIP specialist will evaluate the design for a planned Disaster Recovery Site expansion, validate it, propose any necessary changes, and assist personnel with implementation.
• The VoIP specialist will act as a liaison with CTSN personnel for connections to the CTSN VoIP network.

Must haves:

• Top secret clearance
• 10+ years experience as a technology architect
• A degree/diploma in Computer Technology/Information Technology/Engineering or related field
• 3+ years experience designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco VoIP systems in a production environment
• Experience implementing or supporting Cisco VoIP systems on a classified system for a Government of Canada department

Nice to haves:

• 6+ years experience designing, implementing and supporting Cisco VoIP systems and technologies in a production environment.
• 4+ years experience working with Cisco Expressway software.
• 4+ years experience working with Cisco Video Tele-Conferencing (VTC) systems.
• 3+ years experience performing security design or security assessments of VoIP infrastructures.
• 2 Cisco certifications related to communications and/or networking
