Senior Unix / Linux Systems Administrator to provide automation support using Ansible for RHEL and Solaris systems for a crown corporation client

Our valued crown corporation client is seeking a Senior Unix Systems Admin for an initial 1-year contract (hybrid on-site in Calgary).

As the successful candidate you will provide administration and production support within a Solaris 11 and RHEL environment.

Initial 1-year contract, with a strong chance of extension up to a maximum term of 3 years. Hybrid schedule of 10 days/month on-site in Calgary, AB. 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. On-Call and Overtime will be required as part of a regular rotational schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Solaris 11 environment, Redhat Linux 8, 9
• Perform Operating System administration, maintenance, patching and hardening practices
• Assist with the planning and execution of server installations, configuration, and tuning of Linux using Satellite and Ansible (Ansible Automation Platform)
• Assist with the development of ansible playbooks to automate every day administrative tasks
• Assist with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation (build books, operational guides, etc.)

Must-have Skills:

• 3+ years’ experience years of demonstrated work experience in a Redhat Linux (RHEL) 7/8/9 Environment using Satellite
• 3+ years of demonstrated work experience with Solaris 11 environment
• Demonstrated experience with Ansible Automation
• Demonstrated experience with UNIX System administration, hardware support and building (Scripting, Packaging, OpsCenter)

Nice-to-have Skills:

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Network Automation, and/or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
• Redhat OpenSCAP
