Location: Alberta (Edmonton preferred; nearby locations considered)

Onsite 2-3 days a week

Overview:

Our client is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead the development and implementation of innovative distribution models for banking products, with a key focus on the mortgage market. The successful candidate will work closely with the client’s executive team, guiding strategic decision-making on whether to build a mortgage brokerage from the ground up or acquire and integrate an existing one. This role will involve evaluating the merits and challenges of each approach, ensuring that the chosen path aligns with the organization’s goals and enhances its partnerships.

Based in Alberta, this position has a preference for candidates located in or near Edmonton, as close collaboration with the executive team and regional partners will be essential.

Must-Haves:

• 8+ years of project management with experience implementing banking products
• Strong ability to manage executive stakeholders, particularly guiding decision-making processes and navigating strategic initiatives.
• Capable of “managing up” to senior leadership and “managing down” to ensure all project stakeholders are aligned.
• Experience with mortgage or working with mortgage brokers.
• Based in Alberta (preferably Edmonton or surrounding areas).

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience in banking, lending, or credit product distribution.
• Familiarity with the Alberta market and regulatory environment in the financial industry.
• Background in working with executive leadership on strategic initiatives within financial services.
• PMP certification or other relevant project management credentials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with executives to define and narrow down distribution models for banking products, particularly focusing on mortgages or relationships with mortgage brokers.
• Provide high-level project oversight and facilitate discussions that lead to concrete decisions and strategic planning.
• Manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and progress across multiple groups
• Develop and implement detailed project plans, timelines, and key deliverables that support the vision of deeper integration
• Communicate effectively with senior leadership, offering regular updates on project milestones and addressing any roadblocks or challenges.
• Coordinate with various business units to ensure seamless collaboration and integration of efforts across the organization.
