Sr. IT Project Manager to support the planning and implementation of a research awards / grands management system.

Our valued client is looking for a Sr. IT Project Manager to support the planning and implementation of a research awards / grands management system.

This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week being caried out on-site in downtown Ottawa

Tasks include:

• Manage all aspects of a typical customized software implementation project including: managing project scope, budget, deliverables and day to day operations; Create a project charter; Integrated project planning; Resource planning; Change management; Issues prioritization; Risk analysis and management; Quality assurance; Ensuring timelines are met, updating project documentation; Collaboration and communication with the team, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers/stakeholders; Status reporting to the Executive Sponsor and the Information Services Steering Committee (ISSC)
• Ensure the smooth transition from the existing system to the new system, and ensure the completeness and correctness of data migration from the existing system to the new system
• On project approval, ensure full implementation of the award management solution deliverables as specified in the Project Charter and associated planning deliverables
• Develop and execute implementation plans to ensure any/all newly developed implemented modules are properly supported during and after implementation through knowledge transfer
• Ensure the development and delivery of a communication strategy to staff and the external research community

Must have:

• Reliability clearance with the Federal Government
• Significant experience in the project management of comparable customized software development project, preferably within a research awards or grants management environment

Nice to have:

• Project Management Certification
• Experience implementing a systems renewal project and/or customized software implementation
