Our client is looking for a Talent Development Manager (Software Development Manager) to support a team of 15 as a manager and talent coach with a world leading development company.


Overview:

We are looking for an experienced, responsible Talent Development Manager with a technical background to join the Development Management team. This person will be responsible for managing technical teams and ensuring the enhancement of technical capabilities and innovative culture across the company. This is key and multi-faceted role where the Talent Development Manager will provide leadership within there own area of responsibility and collaborate with the other locations and departments.

The right candidate will take the lead role collaborating with the Development Management Team, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners to ensure continuous improvement of agile practices.


Must Have's:

  • 4+ years of leadership experience in a technical environment.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Experience developing and tracking metrics and agility indicators.
  • Strong skills in organizational and project management.
  • Deep understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong critical reasoning, data analysis, and reporting experience.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with training initiatives and HR processes for performance improvement.
  • Degree in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering (or equivalent experience).



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and people development for software development teams in Agile environments.
  • Execute Talent Development processes and conduct program reviews for continuous improvement.
  • Assess skill gaps, manage talent risks, and develop or acquire talent as needed.
  • Perform regular one-on-ones, offering coaching and feedback to equip teams with necessary skills.
  • Collaborate with Scrum team members to manage goal setting, peer feedback, and career planning for Edmonton Development teams.
  • Deliver thought leadership to address gaps in development and deployment processes.
  • Coach Scrum teams and stakeholders to resolve impediments and align resources effectively.
  • Partner with leadership to address organizational development and change management issues.
  • Collaborate with HR and Training teams to support Talent Development technology and infrastructure.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and documentation based on business requirements.
  • Identify organizational gaps, create proposals to address them, and lead implementation aligned with leadership.
