As we continue to grow, we are seeking a strategic and analytical Director of Web Domain Strategy and Optimization to join our team and drive our online presence to new heights. The Director, Web Domain Strategy & Optimization. Reporting to the AVP, Digital Experience Enablement, they will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to optimize the company's public web presence and improving digital experiences, including enhancing website performance, managing web content, and aligning the digital strategy with business goals.
This role requires a leader with a deep understanding of web technologies and content management platforms, web analytics, user experience, SEO, and digital marketing. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional Marketing and Business unit teams to streamline our web presence, optimize website performance, manage content, support strategies that drive traffic, improve conversion rates, and ensure a seamless user experience
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Planning:
- Define and implement the overall web platform strategy aligned with business objectives, customer needs, and digital trends to drive engagement, lead generation, and customer satisfaction and work with stakeholders to ensure web footprint is scalable and maintainable.
- Identify opportunities for growth and improvement in web presence and performance.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Content Management Services:
- Oversee the development and maintenance of a content management system (CMS) that supports efficient, scalable content creation and updates.
- Ensure content is relevant across our web presence, high-quality, and aligned with brand standards, while managing workflows for content approval and publishing.
- Web Optimization:
- Continuously improve website performance through SEO, A/B testing, mobile responsiveness, speed optimization, and user experience enhancements.
- Work with stakeholders to Implement data-driven strategies to increase conversion rates, reduce bounce rates, and improve site traffic.
- Collaborate with content creators to ensure that web content is optimized for search engines and user engagement.
- Web Channel Transformation Leadership:
- Champion digital initiatives that improve the user experience, streamline processes, and enhance digital touchpoints across all web properties.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with stakeholders in Marketing, IT, Product, and other departments to ensure the website supports broader business initiatives, campaigns, and customer engagement strategies.
- Work closely with the digital marketing teams to ensure cohesive and integrated online campaigns.
- Partner with IT stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of the website with internal systems (CRM, CMS, analytics tools) and third-party technologies to improve the overall digital experience.
- Team Leadership:
- Manage team who work on complex digital projects within a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of web publishers, developers, content managers, and experimentation and optimization team members to execute digital projects efficiently.
- Compliance and Security:
- Ensure the website adheres to industry regulations, security standards, and best practices in data management, accessibility and applicable privacy laws
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Present recommendations, progress, and performance reports to senior leadership and key stakeholders, providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, information technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in web strategy, optimization, and digital marketing or a similar role. Within the insurance, financial services, or regulated industries would be an asset
- Strong understanding of content management systems (CMS), web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.), SEO, and best practices in web performance optimization.
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong project management abilities with a track record of delivering successful web initiatives
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex digital strategies to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and execute a long-term vision for the company’s web presence while being hands-on with day-to-day operations.

Primary Location
Working Arrangement
Salary range is expected to be between
$103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
