The opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Sales Enablement Learning and Development, the Learning and Design Technologist is responsible for using software and other technologies to create and maintain learning content or experiences for hard-working salespeople across Canada. This role will support the successful implementation of learning experiences. The Learning and Design Technologist is working to ensure smooth integration of learning opportunities and cultivating a healthy work environment.
As part of this, the employee will build strong relationships with field sales staff while collaborating with subject matter experts from other areas within the business units we support. The diversity of the audiences we support will require the successful candidate to be proficient with all aspects of the instructional design the design process with a focus on implementation, retention and evaluation, through multiple delivery methods, and the development of metrics to determine readiness and effectiveness. They will need to be self-motivated, resourceful and thrive in a constantly evolving environment.
Our ideal candidate will be customer-focused, experienced in sales and marketing training with an educational background in Adult Education/Training. The successful candidate must have a strong capacity for retaining information and be very capable of working independently.
Responsibilities
- Learning Technology Support - Handles learning management tools, Axonify and Pursuit, retention strategy, and builds content and learning paths where required
- Resourcing and Retention - work on retention strategies with the Architect, Designers, and SMEs, defining 30/60/90 Day plans and evaluations
- Collect reports and data from LMS, Surveys, Trackers, etc. and create robust summaries
- Implementation and maintenance of e-learning programs - with a large focus in the sales onboarding program
- Instructional Design - Perform the full business partnering and design cycle - needs assessment, analysis, provide learning solutions, monitor, and evaluate results and impact
- Independently design, develop and curate creative learner-centered, performance-based training programs, modules, and materials in multiple modalities, including remote learning methodologies, blended classroom learning, interactive e-learning modules, videos, infographics, facilitator guides auxiliary practice, review, and resource materials

What we are looking for
- 2-3 years of formal instructional design experience preferred
- Knowledge of, and the ability to apply adult learning principles
- Integrate technology into learning settings
- To create and maintain digital learning programs
- The ability to collaborate with internal and external collaborators
- Strong interest in technology, systems, and tools
- Creative and innovative
- Experience with multiple delivery methods, including e-learning initiatives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Primary Location
Working Arrangement
Salary range is expected to be between
$56,400.00 CAD - $94,000.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
