Sturgeon Public School Division is currently seeking a qualified full-time Educational Assistant 2 , for a work assignment at the Morinville and Sturgeon Learning Centres.

Located in the Sturgeon Public Schools Central Office, Morinville Learning Centre serves students in Grades 8-12 needing an alternative learning environment, upgrading, or need to repeat a course. Attendance and work completion schedules are flexible and designed to meet the individual needs of the students.

The Sturgeon Learning Centre is located in Gibbons and is an alternative high school that provides students in Grades 8-12 the opportunity to earn credits using a flexible, individualized approach. Teachers help support students through Google Meets, emails, phone calls and in person one-on-one.

FTE: 1.0 FTE; 6.5 hrs/day; Full-Time Temporary

Initial Assignment: Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant will assist in academics, regulation, and organization.

Duties:

Daily support working one-on-one with individuals and small groups

Assist with field trip organization

Monitor and report students progress with classroom teachers

Provide support to the Administrative Assistant and perform other duties as assigned by the Principal

Qualifications & Experience:

Educational Assistant or Early Childhood certificate or diploma.

Experience working with students with varying abilities, academic levels and behaviors

Basic or Intermediate First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training or equivalent

Equivalencies that consist of a combination of education, knowledge, skills and abilities to formal education requirements may be considered

H ourly Rate: $18.82 - $23.57 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
