Located in the Town of Redwater, the school offers a unique small-town environment and serves approximately 300 students from grades 5-12. Approximately 25 staff work together as a team to provide exemplary education for all students. Redwater School embodies a well-rounded philosophy in education through arts, academics, athletics, entrepreneurship, and citizenship. Community spirit energizes the hallways encouraging students to Make a Difference while pursuing their unique paths to success. This assignment is subject to change based on operational requirements.FTE: 1.0 FTE; 32.5 hrs/ week; Monday to Friday; Full-Time Temporary Initial Assignment: Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant will work in the Specialized Programming classroom. Qualifications & Experience: Educational Assistant or Early Childhood certificate or diploma Experience working with students with varying abilities, academic levels, and behaviors, knowledge of students with Autism, fetal alcohol effects (FAE) Basic or Intermediate First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training or equivalent Preference is given to applicants having experience and training with varying abilities, Autism, BehaviorsEquivalencies that consist of a combination of education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to formal education requirements may be considered Hourly Rate: $18.82 - $23.57 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
